Thanksgiving is fast approaching and it’s not only a delicious holiday, but a time where we reflect on all the things we’re thankful for. WesternWoman.com sat down with a few of our favorite Western Women to learn about their Thanksgiving traditions and how they spend this special day!

What do you do for Thanksgiving? Spend time at the family ranch.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Love like it all, but my favorite is my Mom’s Dressing.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? Love going to the ranch, it feels like Thanksgiving.
Barbara Peirce
What do you do for Thanksgiving? Spend time with my family. Because it’s the time for all of us to be together and be blessed and thankful for each other. And of course, mama cooks!
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Homemade dressing, cranberry sauce and of course a slice of pumpkin pie with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? Home, because home is where the heart is.
Laura Conn – Conn Cutting Horses
What do you do for Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is at my house, about 25 people come.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? My favorite food, turkey and dressing.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? My house with my family on Thanksgiving.
Sue Dowling – Stoneview Farm
What do you do for Thanksgiving? We cook, we celebrate, the only holidays exist in my world are thanksgiving and Christmas because they fall between foaling season and horse sales. We celebrate thanksgiving for all of our blessings.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? My mothers dressing that I stuff the turkey with, we keep family tradition.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? Home, Texas!
Patti Norman
What do you do for Thanksgiving? Well I’m probably going to be at the NCHA futurity and we eat there or at golden corral. We really hope we are there! But before we started that we’d have everyone over and have a big dinner at home.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? I have two! Dressing with giblet gravy and sweet potato casserole.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? NCHA futurity! Lol just kidding, home with family. But we really hope our three year old qualifies.
Colleen Johnson – Ben Johnson Cutting Horses
What do you do for Thanksgiving? Thanksgiving usually falls during the NCHA futurity, so typically we are in Fort Worth showing. We love getting together with our family to celebrate. We are extremely thankful to be able to be doing what we do everyday with these amazing horses and friends that we can call family.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? Pumpkin pie.
What is your favorite destination for Thanksgiving? Fort Worth for the NCHA Futurity.
