If you are familiar with the cutting horse industry then you know its time for National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Summer Cutting Spectacular. More commonly referred to as the NCHA Summer Spectacular, this year’s event is one of the largest in NCHA history taking place July 18th – August 8th. The 3-week long event is held each year at the Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, TX.
The Summer Spectacular features the NCHA Derby and the NCHA Classic Challenge. The NCHA Derby is open to 4-year-old cutting horses and is the final jewel the NCHA Triple Crown. The first two jewels of the prestigious NCHA Triple Crown title are the NCHA World Championship Futurity and the NCHA Super Stakes. The NCHA Classic Challenge is open to 5- and 6-year-old cutting horses. All-in-all the Summer Spectacular is filled with 3-weeks of some of top cutting horses and riders in the industry.
In conjunction with the NCHA Summer Spectacular, competitors with the National Youth Cutting Horse Association will be vying for the Junior and Senior division World Titles.
